Our reunion and the tibetan settlements

After touring mysor for a couple of days,
love was reflourishing...

today it is 26/2/06, almost two months after the events described here actually occured.
since Aviad was quicker to update his blog,
all the events that happened since mysore and until end of February were recorded in aviad's blog, at:
www.aviadr1.blogspot.com
these are very detailed and funny.
from now on we promise to update on this blog only, and for your convenience a quick summary of our adventures is given in the following entries, until (and including) Allepy.
there will be no more posts at aviad's blog. enjoy!

we took a bus to Bylakuppe, where a lot of Tibetan settlements are scatteredthese settlements are not very known, partly because the indian govermentshas some rules, regulations and permits that regulate foreigners in this area.
on the bus over there we met some monks that were coming from north india to visit their auntie, they told us that accomodation will be available in Sera monastery. we took a rickshaw there, met very nice tourist and very nice monks, but unfortunately room was not available!!! actuially the entire monastery was almost shut down because all the people went to see his holiness the Dalai speak and teach at the Kalan-chaka some distance north of there. those kind monks offered to stay at their place until room can be found. these charming and generous fellows are Jampa Chonjur (up) and tenim Kunphel (down), and we had many adventures and good time with them
day after that tenzin who had some free time (because all teachers were away) took us to the nearby golden monastery. the place was extremely beautiful and he had excellent commentary that allowed us a little insight into the (sometimes bizarre) things that we saw there.the day after that, Jampa and Kunphel took us to the nearby deer park, which is kind of a zoo and a river spot, which is very popular with local indians. During that day we did the laundry in the river, had a fruit picnic and Jampa and Tanzim played some football... All together, we had such good times together and we all felt really connected. we invited jampa and kunphel to trek with us near the tibeten settlements in Leh, Ladakh or Nepal and hope they have some time off. discoveriing that Jampa is actually a genuis at painting and an aspiring Thangka painter, we together opened a blog for him where he can publish his amaizng work. you can look at it in www.jamparts.blogspot.com
