fun in mahabalipuram (mamalapuram)

Having enjoyed Pondicherry and Auroville to its fullness, the happy 5 - Brice, Amandine, Pauline and us two left to nearby Mahabalipuram.
This laid-back, temple town/tourist hangout, is known for its peculiar rocky formations, and monolithic temples, caves and statues carved from them. the town has a rich history of stone carving which is still visible today, not only in the spectacular temples, but also in magnificent statues carved out today by local artisans.

on the top pictures you see 2 israelis smoking their chillum in their open air balcony, in front of our restaurant.

the middle picture shows the street where the tourist hotels and hangouts are.

the bottom picture shows our happy bunch!
