Boat Island

We arrived to Boat Island during the sunset. Our own boat didn’t have any flash lights and therefore had to go back to Wandoor as soon as possible. They therefore left us alone about an hour before the sun finally sent, in a rush creating our camp, fixing our hammocks and our supper.

After supper we took a blanket to our beautiful beach, and couldn’t believe that we where completely alone, surrendering ourselves to the mercy of the reptiles around. But it was wonderful listening to the waves and looking at our own beautiful island while lying on the soft sand.

In the middle of the night we had a surprise. While sleeping- each on his own hammock, suddenly an flashlight woke us up. It was no less then 10! Indian men who came to celebrate the color festival on an illegal island, doing some illegal fishing and hunting (the poor spotted deer…)
